Friday is TEN:TEN, at the XO Club in Florence: reggaeton, latin house and the biggest hits until five in the morning, with a buzzer that decides who takes the bottle home.
Here is how it works: every drink, including the one in your ticket, is worth a play. Hit the buzzer, the timer starts, and you have to stop it exactly on 10:10. Whoever nails it wins a bottle in the VIP area. Meanwhile the floor never stops: everyone sings along to the classics and dances to whatever just dropped.
Doors at 23:30, the night runs until five. Before 00:30 university students get in for 1 €, everyone else pays 12 € for women and 15 € for men. After that time entry is 15 € women and 20 € men, with a drink. Grand opening Friday 11 September.
The XO Club & Lounge is at Via Giuseppe Verdi 59R, in the centre of Florence, in the Santa Croce area. It is a compact, central club, easy to reach on foot from anywhere in the historic centre and well served by taxis for the ride home at dawn.
