Choose your night out in Florence

Santa Croce, Repubblica and Santa Maria Novella have clubs you can reach on foot from the center. For house and electronic music, compare Tenax’s lineup with the central clubs.

Where to dance in central Florence

Babylon and XO are near Santa Croce; YAB, Club21 and Blue Velvet are between Repubblica and Signoria. Space announces its return on October 16, and Club21 on October 23.

The FIW events listed here require an original ID card or passport. Bring your booking confirmation and check whether the guest-list deadline means joining the line or getting inside.

Taxis and restricted streets

The historic center has restricted-traffic areas called ZTL, so check access before following driving directions through a controlled gate. The city’s tourism site lists taxi numbers +39 055 4242 and +39 055 4390. Agree on a pickup point cars can reach.

Autolinee Toscane lists new routes 18, 22 and 60 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., introduced in June 2026. If you’re leaving at 4:30 or 5 a.m., check other options in its trip planner.

Questions about going out in Florence

Which nightclubs are in central Florence?

Babylon, YAB, XO and Space are in the historic center. Space’s reopening is announced for October 16, 2026. Check the schedule for the date you plan to go.

What is a discopub?

In Italy, discopub generally means a pub or bar with music and dancing. Some offer karaoke or dinner too. It doesn’t promise a nightclub-sized dance floor or the same closing time.

How old do you have to be to go clubbing?

MU, TEN:TEN and AZUCAR list 18+ entry. CHIICAS admits women 18+ and men 21+. Check the individual event for other venues and programs.

Are there free student nights in Florence?

At MU, university students get free entry until 12:30 a.m. Thursday, during the Wednesday night event. Bring original ID and proof of enrollment; check the event page for current terms.

Can I take a bus home after the clubs close?

Check your route’s last departure. New night routes 18, 22 and 60 are listed until 2 a.m. For a later departure, arrange a taxi or check whether you can walk home.

Is CHIICAS at YAB or Central Club?

FIW’s current schedule places CHIICAS at YAB on Thursdays. Central hosts AZUCAR x KISS PARTY on Saturdays, with a separate Halloween edition.
